The disease is caused by bacterium Neisseria Gonorrhoeae. The disease is spread through sexual intercourse whether it would be oral, vaginal or anal sex.

STD can be treated in two aspects. The first aspect is curing the disease in affected person. The second aspect is preventing further spread of disease.

Unlike standard penicillin treatment, of late a large number of potent antibiotics are introduced in the market that aid in treating the infection in the most affected manner.  Following medications are given for treating the Gonorrhoea – male:

  • Cefixime of 400 mg, given by mouth, one time in a day
  • Ofloxacin of 400 mg, one time in day given by mouth
  • One injection of 125 mg of Ceftriaxone is injected into muscle
  • Ciprofloxacin of 500 mg given by mouth, one tablet in a day.

It is necessary to visit the doctor unless the infection gets completely cured.
